Great News! We now sell and install Metal water tanks

What is a "Water Consultant" and why do I need one?

A water consultant is someone who can plan, design and build water systems. In our case, we are also able to install water tanks, pumping systems, purification systems and even pipe the water from rainwater systems into buildings in the State of Texas.

We can do rainwater plumbing in Texas because Pat is a Master Plumber in the State of Texas and holds the Water Supply Protection Specialist Endorsement. (WSPS)

Why is that designation important? Because, in Texas, it is illegal for anyone except a licensed plumber that holds that endorsement to pipe rainwater into a building. (Outdoor rainwater irrigation piping is not included.) Of course, a home owner is also exempt from this rule at this time.

Pat was also trained and certified by the American Rainwater Catchment Systems Association (ARCSA) in 2013 to design rainwater systems, properly install them and to make the water safe to drink if desired by using various treatment options.

We are now certified to sell and install metal water tanks for rainwater systems, fire suppression systems and water systems. Click here for more.

There are a lot of things to consider when designing a water system properly such as:
  • Helping the homeowner come to grips with the amount of water needed for their design
  • Calculating rainwater catchment surface and the resulting amount of water that can be captured
  • Planing the gutters and down spout capacity
  • Understanding and planning for the amount of rain that falls in a location based on the thirty year records
  • Calculating the size and back pressure in the branch piping leading to the storage tank
  • Calculating the needed capacity of the storage tank
  • Advising the home owner in the best storage tank at the lowest cost possible to fit their design
  • Planning the water use systems including purification for drinking water or irrigation
  • Planning any plumbing systems for the water use

There are even more things than these necessary to measure, calculate and design when building a water system. When a homeowner wants to properly utilize water as a resource it is wise to hire an experienced, certified professional.

We can consult, advise, design or contract to build a system that will best meet your needs. Contact us at the numbers below.

Pat is also available to teach seminars on sourcing water for homesteads and purifying water for homesteads. He has been teaching these seminars for many years for The Ploughshare Institute for Sustainable Culture and at the Mother Earth News Fair in Texas.
